No,
it doesn't have perfect image quality, but the Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS II USM Lens
is one of the best general purpose lenses available.
It has an
extremely useful range of focal lengths in a very-well constructed
body that is ready for professional-duty use. It is nicely sized and has a weight
that will not quickly wear you down. And, the
excellent image stabilization
system will make a dramatic difference in some low light situations.
The
fast, accurate and quiet AF system will not let you down, the overall lens
design will delight and the price is not terribly high.
Good quality of lens barrel,
Very good image quality in frame centre,
Good image quality on the edge of APS-C sensor,
Acceptable image quality on the edge of full frame,
Imperceptible longitudinal chromatic aberration,
Lack of any serious problems with lateral chromatic aberration,
Moderate spherical aberration,
Better distortion correction than in the case of the rivals,
Better vignetting correction tha in the case of the rivals,
Good performance against bright light,
Efficient image stabilization,
Fast, silent and accurate autofocus.

A bit too high coma at the shortest focal length,
Visible distortion at the widest angle of view,
Significant vignetting on full frame.
lensrentals"The new Mk II version is a bit better than the original version, but I was expecting a lot more."opticallimitsUnfortunately we weren't really impressed by its (AF) accuracy.
We had to test two samples (more this later) and both were often WAY off
(back-focusing) especially at 24mm where the camera focused substantially
beyond infinity at long distance shots.
Honestly,
we would recommend to skip this lens. We just didn't find
any substantial improvement over the already not-so-great predecessor.
Instead we would suggest to check out the Canon EF 24-70mm f/4 USM L IS
or the Sigma 24-105mm f/4 HSM ART.

...being tack-sharp from 24mm to 50mm, both in the centre and at the edges
of the frame. Sharpness at 70-105mm isn't quite as good when shooting
wide-open at f/4, but overall the Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS II USM delivers
excellent sharpness across the frame.
Vignetting at wide-open apertures and some barrel distortion at 24mm
are the only other real optical issues of note.
Build quality is excellent, Focusing was very quick and quiet on the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV
...effective built-in optical image stabilisation system, now worth up to 4 stops
rather than the 2.5 stops that the previous model offered.
The price of the Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS II USM isn't so attractive, though,
with the similarly specified Sigma 24-105mm F4 DG OS HSM costing quite a lot less,
although it costs significantly less than the faster but shorter Canon EF 24-70mm
f/2.8L II USM.
Despite the price-tag, we can still strongly recommend the new Canon
EF 24-105mm f/4L IS II USM as a very well-built standard zoom lens
that delivers superb results with the minimum of fuss.
