.........Born and raised in St. Mark, Haiti, Manze is a vodouisant (practitioner of Vodou), and is an authority on Haitian folk-loric song culture. She is also an accomplished dancer and sang backup with the Rolling Stones on the Voodoo Lounge Tour. Manze Dayila is a vocal innovator and the empress of The Nago Nation. Her performances fuse Haitian Folk songs, American Standards and original compositions. Manze is currently finishing her first full-length CD "Solé." It's rich arrangements break new ground by placing traditional Haitian folk songs in a variety of settings fusing Latin, African and reggae rhythms, sometimes in an all-out electronic/dance frenzy. Manze can also be found performing in the NYC Subways. It is truly an experience to hear her soulful voice echoing through the corridors during your daily commute.
