заитересовался темой, хочу испытать 4х5, кто пользовался и как рассчитывать предварительное экспонирование?

До меня никак не дойдет из Германии. Что Вы имеете в виду под предварительным экспонированием? Засветку вспышкой для снижения контраста?

читал, и что там разжевано? все для пинхола понятно более-менее. про вспышку не понял...главное Remember, with Direct Positive paper, less exposure is needed to make the image darker - (unlike conventional photo papers where more exposure is needed to darken the end print). вот тут экспериментами товарищ занимается...может, у кого есть номер B&WP с его статьей? не могу в сети найти http://www.thewebdarkroom.com/?p=509

Вот не могу найти...читал на форуме, там мужик предварительный засвет делал через лист бумаги, с хитрым расчетом на фокусное объектива и еще кучу параметров....неплохо получалось. там даже расчет был на 150мм.

Сорри, спутал. Сам видел где-то такие расчеты, думал в даташите.
Блин, а я pre-flash именно так и понял, что пыхой ее надо... :) Думал, короткий импульс именно важен.

I have shot a lot of Harman Direct Positive portraits and controlling it is a slippery business indeed. Here's where I'm up to:
I use a 2 stop orange filter for portraiture to overcome the truly vile ( coarse, ugly, contrasty) orthochromatic rendition of skin tones. My effective EI is 1.5.
Preflash is critical. I use 0.8 seconds under a 4x5 enlarger (150 watt lamp) set high with f16 on the 150mm lens. A preflash of 0.7 seconds or 0.9 seconds is different not only from the point of view of contrast control but the EI of the paper changes too! Testing and optimising for your own system is the only way forward. My first 50 sheets were "wasted" in testing.
Preflash reduces the capacity of Harman DP to deliver a decent black. I use warm fresh Dektol 1+2 to get as much density as I can.
Fixing is demanding. Weak fixer will leave a nasty magenta stain in the paper. I use Hypam 1+4 fresh and warm.
Exposure is deadly critical. 1/3 of a stop makes a visible difference. During a portrait session I have an assistant running to the darkroom with exposed sheets and calling out corrections as the shoot progresses.
Harman ostensibly produced this material as a resource for pinhole photographers. With the limited control available in that genre of photography I cannot see how anyone can get predictable results. In the studio with everything under control Harman DP can yield unique camera-original pictures.

что-то мне подсказывает, что не стоит мне вязаться с этим делом...уж очень все муторно :D а я ленив :D

я так понимаю, что мало того что бумагу надо засвечивать под увеличителем с точностью то 0,1 сек, но и сразу же проявлять, дабы ввести коррекцию, потому что разница в 1/3 ступени уже слишком существенна.

А я всего 25 листов на пробу заказал. :)
Мужик переусложнил сильно. Так снимать - весь кайф потеряешь. Для чего? Чтобы приблизиться по контрасту к контактному отпечатку с нормального негатива? А есть примеры его работ?
Мне кажется, надо с самого начала выбирать сюжеты под высокий контраст и не парится. Вон мужик без засветки снимает и ничего http://www.artursikora.blogspot.ie/2012/06/direct-positive-paper.html

ничего, конечно, только он студийный свет притащил и выкрутил его на полную чтоб при 8 1/30 получить. студия со светом типа другая тема, не моя....для себя решил не заморачиваться, сложно и муторно. подожду, если материал будет развиваться в сторону юзабельности, тогда буду участвовать....пока в сторонке покурю, послежу за темой.
