What's new in Capture One 3.7
New cameras added
Support for the following cameras has been added to Capture One:
· Nikon D2X
· Canon 350D and G6
· Olympus E-300 and C-7070
· Pentax *istDS
Nikon D2X white balance support
Capture One does not support the Nikon D2X white balances, due to the encrypted white balance format recently introduced by Nikon Corporation. All white balance presets are emulated so that your images will look very similar to the original Nikon D2X white balance presets. If your images were shot using custom or auto white balance, Capture One will automatically perform an auto white balance on your images when they are opened for the first time.
Tethered support for new Canon EOS models
Support for the new Canon models has been added to Capture One. Previously only a Canon 1D and 1Ds were supported for tethered operation, but now all EOS models are supported except the Canon Rebel XT / 350D. Support for the Rebel XT will be added in the next release.
Additionally the support for Canon tethered operation has been made more stable than previous and an auto connect feature has been added.
For more information about tethered shooting with your Canon camera, read the section "Tethered operation with Canon camera".
Color Noise Suppression
A new slider has been added to allow users to adjust the color noise suppression. The slider will allow you to balance the amount of color details vs. the amount of noise which is particularly useful on high ISO / long exposure times. At position 0, a maximum of color details is reproduced and at maximum position, color noise is suppressed with a little damage to the color details.
The new color noise suppression slider affect the processing speed. Under "Preferences" on the "Process settings" tab, you can switch back to "Pre
3.7 standard color noise suppression". This will give you the old color noise
suppression rendering.
Banding- and Noise suppression per image
Banding- and noise suppression are now adjusted on a per image basis as opposed to a general application setting as in previous versions of Capture One. This provides you with greater control over the individual images.
Improvements to the Media Reader
An option has been added to the Media Reader that will allow users to prevent the Media Reader reader to start upon login. To disable auto start, open the Phase One Media Reader and make sure "Auto start importer on login" is not flagged.
To enable auto start, open the Memory Reader via the Start menu (Start | Programs Phase One …) and make sure the "Auto start importer on login" is flagged.
The Media Reader is by default switched on to start upon login.
Updated ICC profiles
New and improved profiles for the following cameras: Phase One P 25, P20, H 25, H 20, H 101, H10, Canon 1D MK II, Olympus E-1, Pentax *istD.
